Sweet and spicy nuts
I love game days. Especially when they fall on Sundays. I mean, long lazy afternoons, chilling out with friends indoors, catching a football game as you slowly sip your favorite poison while thinking (not really) about the week ahead.
But cooking on match days can be boring and tiresome. But what if you are hosting? Snacks go a really long way. And these sweet and spicy nuts are everything you have ever wanted. Easy, delicious and ready in minute.
1 cup Selection/Mix of your favorite nuts (Cashew/Peanuts/Macadamia).
2 tsp Spanish Paprika (Available at the spice section of any supermarket)
½ tsp Ground Black pepper
Pinch of Salt
Garam Masala/Curry Powder (Optional but highly recommended)
6 tablespoons of honey, golden syrup or Maple Syrup
Pinch of chilli powder (Adjust to preference).
On a glass plate, Mix all your ingredients (Minus the nuts) ensuring it is well mixed into a paste.
Add your nuts and stir in until all the nuts are well covered with your spice mix.
Spread the nuts out on the plate and pop into the microwave for 1 minute. Remove, Stir and return to microwave for another minute. Continue until you have done this 3-5 times. Or until the nuts look dark brownish/toasted.
PS: Do not microwave them for 5 minutes continuously as this will burn them up.
Remove from the microwave and let them cool.
Serve alongside your other snacks during the game. The best thing about this recipe is that it requires almost no kitchen skill and everything is readily available and cheap.
